We partnered with the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) to create a digital platform that matches the scale and importance of their global conservation work. As the unifying organization for the world’s leading zoos and aquariums, WAZA needed a website that would effectively communicate their mission, facilitate member engagement, and inspire action for wildlife conservation worldwide.

We crafted a visual journey that mirrors the wonder of exploring a world-class zoo or aquarium. The site seamlessly blends striking wildlife photography, conservation footage, and dynamic content layouts that adapt to different storytelling needs. Every element is designed to immerse visitors, spark curiosity, and deepen their connection to the natural world — creating an experience that’s as engaging as it is educational.

I honestly cannot recommend Paolo Inzone enough. He built and designed a brand new website for our organisation The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) as well as a new website for our annual conference. He listened to my ideas for the websites and produced an even better result than I could have imagined. The website design is clean, modern and creative and he really went above and beyond.

Paolo is incredibly professional and helpful, and has the world of patience for my questions and has been amazing in helping me navigate the backend of the website. The websites look beautiful but are also incredibly functional and responsive.

I also asked him for a fun 404 page and he came up with a creative and fun idea which I think is the best 404 page I have ever seen on any website.

When Flamingos Handle Your 404 Errors

Even in moments of user frustration, we saw an opportunity to reinforce WAZA’s mission and personality. Instead of a standard error message, visitors who land on a missing page are greeted by a flamboyance of animated flamingos with personality-filled speech bubbles lamenting the lost page. This playful approach keeps users engaged through relevant video content while subtly guiding them back to the main site. It’s a small moment of delight that transforms a potential exit point into a memorable brand touchpoint.

The page has also been featured on Medium and Search Engine Journal as one of the best 404 pages on the Internet.
